Who Am I?

Hi.  My name is Laura and I’m a reformed people pleaser.  It’s July 2011 and I decided to finally write a real about me page.

I married my best friend in 1998 after only knowing him for 2 months.  It was the best decision I ever made.  We are still very happily married.  Our first child, Matthew, was stillborn, and we miss him every day.  We have since been blessed with 3 more amazing children that I am lucky enough to be able to stay home with and homeschool. We would gladly have another child but we trust the Lord will bless us with another one if it’s His will.

We live in the (extremely) sunny state of Florida- thankfully near one of the best beaches in the world.  We enjoy going to the beach a lot.  Our kids are water babies and spend as much time in the water as possible.  We also enjoy camping and spending time outdoors.

My political ideals are changing and I certainly don’t fit the liberal or conservative cap.  I am a pacifist.  I am against violence of any kind. I love the Episcopal Church and have attended the same one (St. Boniface) since 1985. I love rock music.  I love “hair” bands. I listen to classical music almost all day, every day.  I love 4 part harmonies and hymns. My house is incredibly loud and incredibly love filled.

I have been blogging since 2001 at various places.  RadicalMama.com was the first domain I purchased and no matter where I wander, I always seem to return here.  I’m not always the most steady blogger, but I usually manage one or two a month, most of the time it’s weekly though.

I love Dr. Pepper, purple and pink, painted toe nails, the beach, swimming, reading, snuggling with my babies, camping, baking, iced chai tea, being a wife, hymns in 4 parts, autumn leaves, Christmas, being with my family, and the Lord.
